Adare Camp Site at Victor Harbor on 9th and 10th April 2016
“Getting to know you better” was our theme.
The aim was to get to know each other better – and it worked! There was a great sense of community with great food (& no dishes), lots of fun activities at the Adare campsite, discussions, walks, beach fun, free time, an amazing talent show, craft activities and an inclusive thought provoking service. Thanks to Marcus and his team for organising and running a great event and to everyone attending for happily joining in everything.
The Gospel reading and service focus was John 21:1-19 when Jesus appears to the disciples – after His death – while they are fishing. He tells them to cast their net instead on the other side of the boat where their net fills with so many fish they can hardly pull the net in. When they come ashore there is a fire with fish cooking and bread to eat and Jesus asks them to join Him for breakfast. Jesus then goes on to ask Peter 3 times: “Do you love me?”.
See below for some photos of the great time shared by all.
